WARDLE GOES NVQ
D Wardle (Plant) has embarked on an ambitious training programme that will see all its site based employees gain an NVQ qualification in 2007.

For the majority of its people, this will mean an NVQ Level II in Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations. This qualification covers plant operation and related activities, health & safety and efficient working standards. Gaining the qualification involves a combination of classroom study, on-the-job training and site based assessment.
Commenting on the initiative, Scott Wardle, Managing Director said "Much of our industry's skills base has been developed over years of experience in the field, but these days you have to be able to demonstrate your competence with a formal qualification."
He continues, "By going through an NVQ our people have had their knowledge and experience checked systematically in their working environment, with any omissions identified and remedied."
